Cranston School Does a Good Deed in Their Community

Writer: Freshwater Conservation CanadaFreshwater Conservation Canada

TUC’s Yellow Fish Road: Cranston School does a good deed to help the natural areas in their community.

Working with the City of Calgary as one of TUC’s Yellow Fish Road partners and sponsors, the community of Cranston was targeted to do an YFR project. Over 200 students participated in 10 classroom presentations learning all about the river ecosystem and then had the opportunity to give back to the environment and do the storm-drain painting project to help the natural waterways around their community.

Students painted “Rain Only” on 175 storm-drains and distributed 666 door-hangers to help spread the word that what goes down the storm-drain goes straight to the river.
