Bow River Annual Survey

Bow River Chapter of Trout Unlimited conducts an annual survey of brown trout spawning activity within the City of Calgary.

Be part of The Bow River Chapter’s annual survey of spawning brown trout.

Volunteer participation at this years’ event has been scaled back to maximize social distancing between participants, so we will only be able to offer six (6) spaces for each of the two days. We’ll be using drift boats instead of rafts, but otherwise, the structure of the survey is unchanged.

Please volunteer for Saturday or Sunday but please not both, to allow others to enjoy a day on the water. Boots and waders are not absolutely necessary but are useful. Dress warmly, bring a hat and polarized sunglasses, bring a face covering for those times when separation is challenged.

Transportation back to the start point, snacks and drinks will be provided.

Day one begins at the boat launch on Heritage Drive SE. (just under the Glenmore bridge east of Burnco and the Auto Mall. It ends at Fish Creek Park.

Day two begins at the boat launch at Fish Creek Park (just south of the Hull’s Woods parking lot) and ends at Policeman’s Flats.

Please register for the date of your preference by following the Eventbrite links below:
