The City of St. Albert Supports Yellow Fish Road

The City of St.Albert Supports Yellow Fish Road.

Trout Unlimited Canada’s Yellow Fish Road program was chosen as a community environmental education project by the City of St. Albert and their Environmental Initiatives Grant program. The Yellow Fish Road program will demonstrate environmental benefits and improvements for water and people.

The objectives of the grant program include protecting and improving the Sturgeon River Watershed, improving the water quality of the Sturgeon River, reducing water consumption and fostering community environmental stewardship. Yellow Fish Road will fulfill these objectives by providing public outreach presentations to school and community groups, stewardship activities which will include volunteer storm drain painting events, teacher training sessions aimed at teachers and community leaders (at teacher’s conventions, environmental expos or water festivals) and public events that showcase environmental stewardship and promote program messaging and participation within St. Albert.

After partnering with the City of St. Albert for over 10 years, Trout Unlimited Canada’s Yellow Fish Road program will now become more hands-on and become a stronger voice for water in this environmentally conscious community.
