Trout Unlimited Canada is working on a pilot 360 video/virtual reality underwater experience, funded by RBC. This experience will allow students across Canada to be able to explore a stream above and below the water using virtual reality technology.
TUC biologists have been collecting 360 video footage all field season and now this footage is being converted into a VR underwater experience. As students explore a stream, they will be able to click on ‘hotspots’ to learn information about common features in a stream. This video will also be paired with an associated plan for classrooms.
The hope is that these types of videos and technology will become part of our regular education offering.
